You’re not alone. Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone. I believe in the capacity for people to grow, change, and experience joy; but we must do the work. It’s not always easy, but it is very rewarding.
I am currently a student in my specialized clinical year at Northwest Nazarene University. My therapeutic approach is weighted in the way we think. Cognitive therapy is based on the idea that when you change the way you think, you can change the way you feel and behave. If we can learn to think about ourselves and other people in a more positive and realistic way, it will be far easier to resolve conflicts and develop rewarding personal and professional relationships.
One of my favorite books, Oh! The Places You’ll Go, reminds us that through the good and difficult times, we must remember to dream and believe in ourselves. Dr. Seuss wrote it best, “When you're in a Slump, you're not in for much fun. Un-slumping yourself is not easily done…You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so… get on your way!”

Learning is always on my agenda as I try to keep up with new research and modes of therapy. There is no “one size fits all” theory. I like to cater sessions to your needs and preferences. I am a proud graduate of Northwest Nazarene University with a Master’s in Social Work, specializing in community mental health and addictions. My theory I most align with is Systems Theory - which basically means that I believe there are many factors that lead to the way we think and interact with the world. Biology, upbringing, friends, culture, where we live – all these things contribute to our experience. I have extensive experience in crisis management and suicide prevention, having worked and volunteered for the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline, offering a resource for suicide prevention education. I have been providing introductory training for clergy/church leaders to help congregation members who suffer from depression and/or suicidal thoughts. I have also provided therapy in schools, inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, and drug, alcohol, and eating disorder rehabilitation facilities. My office is a safe place for you to express your thoughts and challenges. I believe that by working together we can build healthier mindsets, awareness can be created with your strengths and values, which will help you lead a more satisfying life and improve your relationships with others

Hello, my name is Bodie Davis. I am a recent graduate of Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2022. I earned my Bachelor’s in Marriage and Family Studies with a cluster in Spanish fluency. I plan on working toward getting my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in the nearfuture. Currently, I offer case management services to individuals who need direction to resources in the community as well as building personal and interpersonal skills. I offer translation services for our clinicians that have clients that only speak Spanish. I mainly work in our Payette and Ontario offices and can video chat with those in other areas.
Hello, I am Karyssa Shaw and I'm the Administrative Assistant. I just started at Insight Counseling and I can already say I love it. I will be assisting with billing and insurance as well as helping in other areas where I am needed.
I love reading, watching movies and hanging out with friends and family.
Hello! I have been the Office Manager at our Payette Office since 2019. I have lived in Payette basically my entire life and this is truly the most rewarding position I've ever held. I currently handle all calls and rescheduling for our established clients as well as book appointments for new clients in the office or Teletherapy via Zoom.
I have been married for almost six years and have three grown children and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
It is such a pleasure to be here! I joined Insight Counseling as the Ontario Office Manager in 2022. I graduated from Ontario High School in 1991. After living in various states throughout the years, I made the decision to return back in the Spring. It is such a privilege and honor to be a part of an amazing group of professionals. My focus is to provide a comfortable and friendly environment for all our clients. Mental Health is so important for all walks of life. It is a rewarding experience knowing I can become a part of that process by scheduling appointments, and reaching out to those in need. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, sports, (both playing and watching) impromptu road trips, concerts, dancing and spending time with my family and friends.
Born and raised in Southern California, I recently moved to Idaho this past year with my family and am loving every minute of it. I have studied and worked in the healthcare field since 2015, my training includes; nurse assistant, medical assistant, home health aide, and medical office manager. This past year I have had the opportunity of working specifically in the mental health field and am currently majoring in health sciences to get a greater understanding of healthcare. Our mental state affects us in all aspects of our lives, I believe it’s crucial that we take the necessary time to tend to our own needs. Which is why in my spare time I enjoy traveling, and taking on new adventures with my family. Spontaneous trips are my utmost favorite, they seem to always create the best memories.
