Jen Cheyney

QMHA

Hi! My name is Jen Cheyney and I was born and raised here in Idaho. I have lived in Nampa for nineteen years and have raised a beautiful family here. I received my undergraduate degree in sociology and criminal justice from the University of Idaho. After graduation, I became a misdemeanor probation officer and then decided to switch gears and was a full time stay at home mom. After raising my beautiful girls, I started working with adults with developmental disabilities and helped them find services that would make their lives easier. These have all been very rewarding careers, but my passion and dream has always been social work and counseling. I am in my first year of graduate school at Northwest Nazarene University in the Master of Social Work program. My goal is to help clients work through hard times in their lives whether that is from developmental disabilities, addiction, trauma, depression, or anxiety. I tackle problems through a holistic view to understand the whole person. I have experience with children with developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, due to my daughter being on the spectrum. I’m a compassionate person and am determined to help clients overcome obstacles and difficulties in their lives.
