Sara J. Cobb
LPC
Introduction
Welcome, I’m Sara! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified
Counselor (NCC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest
Nazarene University (NNU), with a focus on Grief, Trauma, and Crisis. My professional
background includes work in communications, massage therapy, and public library
reference—each of which has shaped my holistic and creative approach to counseling.
About Me
As a counselor, I prioritize empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. My
approach is holistic and humanistic, grounded in the belief that everyone deserves a safe,
supportive space to explore their emotions, identities, and life experiences. I collaborate with
clients to foster insight, healing, and personal growth, while honoring the unique beliefs,
backgrounds, and systems that shape their lives.
My experience includes working with adults, college students, and groups. I’ve facilitated grief
support groups, conducted psychoeducational webinars for individuals involved in domestic
violence treatment programs, provided individual counseling and crisis intervention, and
managed office operations at a counseling agency. I’m passionate about suicide prevention and
grief support, and I strive to reduce stigma through open, compassionate conversations about
mental health.
My work is informed by a commitment to lifelong learning and personal development. My
previous experience in the public library system sharpened my skills in research, organization,
and community engagement—skills I now use to help clients access the tools and resources
they need.
Outside the Office
Outside of counseling, I enjoy long walks with friends, working on cross-stitch and art projects,
playing Block Cube and word games, binge-watching favorite TV shows, going to the movies,
reading and listening to books, keeping up with podcasts, exploring my family’s genealogy, and
treasure-hunting in thrift stores.
